U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

As part of the ongoing re-accreditation cycle of the BA / MA Educational Science, the department is currently working on a stronger profile while preserving the location advantages resulting from the broad establishment of the Frankfurt education sciences. Specializations in MA education science are intended to enable students to implement the instrument of a study-accompanying digital portfolio. This supports both the individualization of study courses as well as processes of reflexive professionalization.

The bachelor's degree covers the entire breadth of educational science and is strongly research-oriented, as shown by two explicit modules on research methods, but also recognizable across all other modules. The so-called "vocational field-related studies" is based on the concept of "pedagogy of the ages". Students can focus on childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The bachelor is completed by internships as well as by two elective courses. In the first optional subject students choose sociology or psychology, in the second optional subject they also have other subjects to choose from.
