Ein inhaltlicher Schwerpunkt liegt auf Projekten, die sich mit den Chancen und Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung für Unternehmen und Gesellschaft befassen. By taking into account synchronic as well as diachronic approaches, the development of at least three different languages (English, German, French, Spanish) is discussed from various linguistic perspectives. Approaches and changes in these approaches to methods and methodologies in linguistics are also part of the programme. It is a research-based study programme.

Basics of theoretical and practical bioanalytics. Advanced knowledge of organic chemistry (synthesis methods and spectroscopic methods). Participation in various scientific working groups to work on current research topics (organo-chemical, biochemical, molecular-biological and cell-biological directions). These research internships comprise approx. 50% of the Master's training and ensure its practical relevance. An obligatory internship in industry or abroad should promote flexibility and provide insight into the structures of other research institutions and companies.

Basics in mathematics, physics, organismic biology, animal and plant physiology. Broad and well-founded training in chemistry with a focus on organic chemistry. The subject biochemistry is deepened in theory and practice with lectures, a basic practical course and two full-day practical courses lasting several weeks with accompanying seminars. A freely selectable minor subject establishes a further practical connection. Imparting key qualifications for a professional career. The completion of a research and method-oriented Bachelor's thesis concludes the study programme.

Students can chose from 20 subjects covering nearly all areas of biology. Within each subject, they visit lectures, seminars and practical courses. In practical courses, students are directly involved in a current scientific project. The study programme is finalized by an independent research project, the Master thesis, in which students work in-depth on a project for nine month. In three compulsory Skills-Modules (Communication Skills, Job Skills and Research Skills), students gain essential competences and are trained in scientific strategies and presentation of scientific results.

Deepened knowledge in different fields of biology, including botany, zoology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology and neurobiology and basic knowledge in chemistry, mathematics and physics. In the last two terms, students achieve a solid knowledge in at least two areas of biology. Special emphasis is given to practical work, covering nearly 50% of the work load. Students are also furnished with systematic guidance and methodological tools for performing academic work. A three-months Bachelor thesis proves their ability to scientifically work on a special topic.
