Therefore, our research covers health research for the whole life span and from diagnostics and prevention up to therapy and rehabilitation. The focus is on clinical psychology, health promotion, prevention and rehabilitation. In addition, students acquire practical skills and methods. Relaxation techniques and health coaching are carried out, interview techniques are practiced, as well as conversation skills and various diagnostic procedures. During the course of studies, students design their own initial interventions and workshops, these are carried out in practice and the results are critically reflected from a scientific point of view. These skills will open up further professional opportunities for the graduates.

In medicine, too, psychological counseling is proven to be useful and helps to reduce negative consequences of illness. The study program in Mental Health and Psychotherapy is dedicated to the promotion and maintenance of mental health as well as the treatment of mental illnesses, taking into account different patient groups as well as different setting approaches, including occupational health management.

The program in Industrial and Organizational Psychology with a focus on safety and health in the world of work offers various fields of expertise. For this reason, the course of study also includes specific knowledge of content and tasks in the field of occupational safety and health. This includes training as a specialist for occupational safety, the stress management training certificate and training as a psychological first-aider. Further basic skills relevant to practical work are taught in the areas of presentation, moderation, mediation and conflict and project managment and coaching.
