U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

Consecutive programs in biology and biotechnology: both bachelor programs provide a broad education in natural sciences with an enhanced training in biology or biotechnology. A hallmark of both programs is a high number of practical classes and close cooperation with non-university research institutes. The master biology offers a specialization in biochemistry/bioinformatics, Genetics, Infectious Biology, Microbiology or Cell Biology, while the biotechology master programm offers specilalizations in Applied Cell Biology, Applied Molecular Biology and Bioengineering.

Compulsory subjects for the students are technical/industrial, biological and chemical aspects of biotechnology. Besides theoretical aspects, the students get a lot of experience in laboratory practice of all disciplines. Furthermore, they are required to take courses which will improve their professional skills. Summarzized, the curriculum improves the basic knowledge in biotechnology, enables the specialisation in one of three alternative disciplines (cell and molecular biology, bioprocess engineering) and qualifies for PhD-thesis.

Obligatory subjects are chemistry, mathematics, physics, statistics, programming, bioengineering and several disciplines of biosciences as molecular cell biology, biotechnology, microbiology, bioinformatics, biochemistry as well as applied and technical biochemistry. After the base education the students can decide between three disciplines: applied cell biology, applied molecular biology or biochemical engineering. The goal of education is a comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of biotechnology, a limited specialization and individual profile formation.

Theoretical, experimental, applied and geo / astrophysics are represented at the TU Braunschweig and enable an application-oriented education. There is a large choice of courses in the master's program, for sharing already in the bachelor's program. Institutes and courses are concentrated on a physics center, so that short distances are taken care of. In order to promote a successful course of study, a professorial mentor will be assigned to you, who will be available to you as a personal contact throughout your studies.

The main research areas in physics focus on current and application-oriented areas such as solid state physics, geospatial and space physics and mathematical physics. Important cooperation partners on site include the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). At the TU Braunschweig, physics and electrical engineering work together closely on a faculty. This also benefits the students. As of 2019, the faculty will be involved in three excellence clusters under the Excellence Initiative.

The degree program is research-oriented and focuses on two major topics: solid-state physics and geo-astrophysics. From six areas of specialization (Nanosystems, Collective Phenomena, Quantum Matter, Extraterrestrial Physics, Astrophysics and Planetology, Geophysics), three can be selected to set their own focus. The study is supplemented by a one-semester research internship and a bridge module, in which both physical and non-physical classes of your choice can be taken. An important local cooperation partner is e.g. the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB).

The degree course teaches the basics of experimental and theoretical physics on the basis of a solid mathematical education. In addition, a minor subject, such as mathematics, computer science, chemistry or aerospace, is selected. For the module "Advanced Physics", classes from the Master degree course are to be taken in order to better decide which areas of specialization are to be chosen in the Master degree course. The application-oriented physical education is supplemented by interdisciplinary and skill-oriented offers from a university-wide course pool.

In physics, the basics of experimental and theoretical physics are taught on the basis of a solid mathematical education. The main focus of the degree program is derived from the chosen subject combination. In the area of professionalization, a choice is made between action-oriented offers, which best suits the individual study objective. The internships are school or subject-related, depending on the job.
