Students receive multidisciplinary training in areas such as microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinstrumentation or bioreactors, as well as techniques for bioenergy and biomaterial production, environmental bioremediation and aquatic organism production. They also learn the technological foundations for the design and use of facilities in the biotechnology industry and the application of biotechnology in the in environmental recovery and improvement.

The bachelor’s degree in Biosystems Engineering combines biology with the UPC's expertise in technology to produce engineers who have technical skills and a capacity for innovation in the biotechnology sector. You will receive multidisciplinary training in areas such as microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinstrumentation, in vitro culture and bioreactor operation as well as techniques for bioenergy and biomaterial production, environmental bioremediation and aquatic organism production. EEBE teaches bachelor's and master's degrees, some of which are international in scope, in industrial electronics, automatic control, mechanical, materials, chemical, energy and biomedical engineering. Doctoral degrees in chemical and materials engineering are also offered. EEBE is a new school that was set up with the aim of it becoming a campus of excellence of the UPC and an international benchmark in the field of engineering that will help to drive the country’s economy in conjunction with business, industrial and socioeconomic agents.

EEBE's research focuses on traditional branches of industrial engineering, such as chemical, mechanical, electronic and electrical engineering, as well as branches that have emerged more recently, such as materials, energy and biomedical engineering. The School hosts cutting-edge research groups working on polymers and biopolymers, advanced materials, biomaterials, the environment, water, hydrogen production, astronomy, sensorics, energy and bioengineering.

The employment rate of ESEIAAT graduates is over 80% for all of its degrees, over 90% for aerospace degrees and even reaches 100% in the case of the bachelor's degree in Textile Technology and Design Engineering. WORK PLACEMENT. The ESEIAAT has about 1,000 educational cooperation agreements that enable students to go on work placement at companies and institutions, which contributes to their training and their integration in the labour market. MOBILITY. The ESEIAAT fosters international student mobility programmes: 200 of its students participate in one of these programmes outside Spain and the School receives an average of 150 international exchange students every year. ,A benchmark university school for teaching and research in industrial, materials, energy and biomedical engineering. On the bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering you will train to be a multidisciplinary professional who can analyse, design, test and operate equipment and processes in which there are changes in the state, internal energy or composition of matter. You will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to design and control chemical plant production and to supervise quality control and environmental management projects. You will understand experimental, testing and process characterisation methods and monitoring, control and product optimisation systems and technologies.

At the EPSEB, research is carried out focused on cutting-edge topics related to building and geomatics, such as aspects of science and technology in building, building and heritage, land policy and valuations, organization, environmental management, properties of materials, public health, analysis of the history of architecture, geomatic engineering, as well as in various aspects of the basic sciences.

The PROFILES that allow the focus of the EPSEB's teaching to be identified in the field of building construction are rehabilitation, energy efficiency in building processes and management and supervision of these building processes. ,Many of our graduates undertake careers in engineering companies in the construction sector, where they participate in all the phases of the business: design, on-site construction, management and maintenance. An ever-growing share of graduates carries out similar tasks in the energy, environmental and consultancy sectors. A research career is a natural outlet for some of our master’s degree graduates and all of our PhD holders, who are particularly well suited to work in industrial R&D departments. Also, thanks to their solid fundamental training, some continue in academia.

Civil engineers are professionals who have good analytical and decision-making skills, which allow them to find efficient and sustainable solutions to complex technological and engineering problems. They are graduates who are professionally qualified to plan, manage, construct and conserve civil engineering projects.
