Neben der Vermittlung betriebswirtschaftlichen Fachwissens steht die Aneignung speziellen Wissens in Energiewirtschaft gepaart mit dem Erwerb von Kompetenzen in Finanzwirtschaft und Unternehmensrechnung im Vordergrund des Studiums. The faculty is involved in other collaborative research centres: SFB TRR 270, SFB 1242 and SFB/TRR 247. The faculty plays an important role in four of five of the university's research focuses, and several of the central academic research institutions are led by members of our faculty (e.g. Nanosciences, Water and Environmental Research, empirical Educational Research).

Er fokussiert die Bedarfe der Automobilindustrie mit einer Vertiefung im Maschinenbau oder Elektrotechnik. Fast ausschließlich als Fernstudiengang konzipiert, beinhaltet er 50% betriebswirtschaftliche und technische Module. Dieser Studiengang ermöglicht vor allem ein flexibles und berufsbegleitendes Studium für Studierende, die schon Berufserfahrung (in der Regel in der Automobilbranche) erlangt haben.

Students are continuously involved in the design of teaching and organisational matters as well as in module adjustments. An evaluation of the programme takes place every semester. In this way, we can ensure that the teaching takes into account the needs and expectations of the students. We have extensive technical equipment such as eye-tracking laboratories, devices for electrodermal measurements, ECG, heart rate variability, PC pools and computer laboratories.

For example, state-funded projects investigate the development and effectiveness of interventions (e.g. empathy training) to improve the mental health of employees. Other research projects concern the implementation of evaluation systems, problem-solving skills, teaching research, (neuro-)biological determinants of stress and depression, self-perception, suicide, applied psychometrics and psycholinguistics.
