The WWU Münster has a long tradition in mathematical teaching and research. Students of mathematics benefit from a broad and intensive mathematical education by about 45 professors of mathematics. A dedicated Learning Center provides bachelor's students with additional support outside of regular classes. Our English Master's degree course offers very flexible choices from eleven different specialisations and various interdisciplinary courses and introduces students individually to ongoing research.

Mathematicians from Münster have already been awarded four Leibniz Prizes, two Alexander von Humboldt Professorships, two ERC Grants and a Max Planck Research Award.

Der Studiengang spricht Studierende an, die neben ihrer Haupttätigkeit als Ärztin oder Arzt zusätzlich in der medizinischen Forschung aktiv sein wollen. Deswegen verknüpft der Studiengang Studieninhalte der Humanmedizin mit entsprechenden Forschungsschwerpunkten der aktuellen Forschungslandschaft. Studierende werden in der wissenschaftlichen Arbeit geschult, so dass sie auch auf dieses Feld ihrer späteren Tätigkeit gut vorbereitet werden. Durch den modularen Aufbau ist die Studiengestaltung flexibel und lässt den Blick in andere naturwissenschaftliche Fachbereiche zu.
