U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

Our four professorships and chairs alongside their respective staff and international guest lecturers specialise in different fields. Each semester we offer courses ranging from introductory lectures in comparative politics, international relations, European politics as well as political theory and the history of thought to varying seminars on advanced bachelor’s and master's levels. Foundation courses are usually taught in the form of lectures and tutorials, advanced bachelor and master classes take the form of small-group seminars that ask for lively class discussions and academic papers.

As the world grows increasingly closer politically and economically, it has never been so important to be able to think in terms of complex national and international structures and processes. This is a multifaceted interdisciplinary degree programme, specifically designed with an international focus and plenty of practical relevance. In this programme, students will gain a solid grounding in political science, sociology, economics, history and public law. Additional foreign language and empirical social research skills round off the students’ profiles.
