U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The Graduate Program in Administration (PPGA) operates in seven areas of knowledge linked to the only area of concentration: “Administration” which are: General Administration, Finance, People Management in Organizations, Marketing, Quantitative Methods and Informatics, Organizational Economics, Operations and Production. These areas follow the logic of the Department of Administration of FEA-USP, where the program is located, which is used for hiring teachers and the allocation of research, teaching and extension activities.

The Degree in Geosciences and Environmental Education has a basic education in Exact Sciences and solid knowledge of the internal and external dynamics of Planet Earth, as well as the interactions of these dynamics with other spheres and with human activities. This knowledge is the basis for formal and non-formal educational activities in the areas of Geoscience and Environment, with the aim of training citizens prepared to know the causes and consequences of natural and anthropic processes and the sustainability of our environment.

The Graduate Program in Mineral Resources and Hydrogeology has an applied character, based on research within the boundary of geological knowledge, and aims to train students in the areas of Mineral and Water Resources, Environmental Geology and Sustainable Development. The program is structured in two areas of concentration: Hydrogeology and Environment and Mineral Resources and Environment. In both, there is consistent application of geotechnologies (geostatistics, geophysics, georeferenced information systems and remote sensing) and multiple analytical techniques.

The Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics, and Atmospheric Sciences (IAG) is one of the major Earth and Universe Sciences research centers in Brazil. Its teaching staff of 72 Lecturers published 216 articles in periodicals and international conference proceedings in 2014. Currently, IAG is organized into three departments installed at USP Main Campus: Astronomy, Geophysics, and Atmospheric Sciences; moreover, the Institute keeps two other facilities: the Meteorological Station, located at the Ipiranga Springs State Park, and the Abrahão de Moraes Observatory, in the town of Valinhos.

The research areas of the history program bring together researchers from different disciplines, encouraging coordinated research across the board and seeking new themes, issues and sources. This perspective is intended to expand the field of theoretical study and open up new themes in social history. Each research area has a coordinator and each area promotes activities geared to its specific interests. These research areas serve to guide the organization of research seminars, which take place each semester, involving supervisors and those who are supervised.

This commitment is effective at all levels of training of new researchers at all levels and in strengthening knowledge production and dissemination activities by different research groups coordinated by teachers. These groups are part of a large research lab called Theodoro Henrique Maurer Jr. Lab, named after the professor who began his linguistics studies at the Faculty.

The compulsory subjects aim to provide basic training in Political Science. Thus, introductory presentation of the main axes that define the appropriate field of our discipline is: State, power and denomination; democracy and constitution of citizenship; political regimes between nations: actors, relations and international systems. It also offers an analytical approach to certain works by central authors of classical and modern political theory. It also presents students with important political theories developed between 1748-1848. Finally, it presents the Brazilian political institutions.

DCP-USP's main lines of research are grouped into three broad areas (political theory, Brazilian and comparative politics, and international relations), covering a wide range of research themes and problems. Some of them are located in specific centers, associated with the PDD and directed by their teachers. In addition to these centers, several teachers and students maintain links with two of the most traditional independent research centers in the country: the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (Cebrap) and the Center for Contemporary Culture Studies (Cedec).
