U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

General fundamental mechanical engineering education with emphasis on all disciplines, namely, solid mechanics, thermo-fluid sciences, dynamics and design. Laboratory experiments accompany materials, strength, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer and control courses. Three design courses educate/train students in research and product development. There is an additional graduation-project course whereby each student works one-on-one under the supervision of a faculty member. Successful students take part in research projects of faculty members.

Students gain knowledge on engineering sciences and fundamental knowledge on each of the civil engineering disciplines, including structural engineering, geotechnics, transportation, hydraulics, construction materials, environmental engineering and construction management. The elective courses in the curriculum provide the students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge on their interest area. They also have the opportunity to get acquaintance with the real work environment early in their educational life, by means of the two practical internships they complete during their study.

It is accredited, education in English, and includes fundamental field and interdisciplinary courses such as computerized data analysis, software, health physics, electronics, materials science, chemistry, metrology, nanophysics and astrophysics. Students complete 90 experiments and also get certificate in metrology (in industrial calibration labs). It also has MsC, PhD and international joint programs. Within the framework of the students exchange program, our students have the chance of education in abroad. We open about 40 sections of courses at each semester for about 1200 students.
