U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The ISU mission relies on unity of research and teaching; knowledge is generated and disseminated by the same individuals, while students are provided with an opportunity to engage in the creation of knowledge. As a research institution ISU tries to develop this in the History as well. Most of the professors do research and have numerous publications in international Journals, as well as, they hold large number of different conferences and so on. In addition to this, there is a GIORGI TSERETELI INSTITUTE OF ORIENTAL STUDIES.

This program includes horizontally and vertically integrated curriculum (hybrid), which implies incorporation of clinical competence training and practical skills developing courses in the first year of study in parallel with natural science disciplines. Additionally, topics of study courses are synchronized according to organ systems, functions and pathologies. Program envisages Problem Based Learning (PBL) seminars, which provides “the correlation integration" of basic medical disciplines and prevent knowledge fragmentation.

ISU offers students research-based programs, among others in Sociology. The Sociology program was initially focused on theoretical knowledge and offered less practical components. Based on the student feedback more courses with built-in practice, as well as special practice term has been introduced. Students now have access both to theoretical training and practical assignments to conduct applied quantitative and qualitative researches. Our professors and invited lecturers have vast practical experience and expertise and devote big share of their time to the supervision of student projects.
