U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

NUU has a tradition of research which combines pure and applied mathematics, with a high level of interaction between different areas. Below we list some of the current areas of research. The choice of categories is somewhat arbitrary, as many faculties have interests that cut across boundaries, and the fields continue to evolve. We give a very brief overview of the research in each area; more detailed information may be found on individual faculty webpages. The main neoplasm of youth is the achievement of social maturity. Since in the period of youth a person first comes directly into contact with society, his main task is to solve social problems: the acquisition of a profession, a certain social status, and the creation of a family. Unlike a teenager, a young person not only includes himself in his consciousness in adult life, but also begins to take a real part in it. Therefore, the achievement of social maturity should be understood, on the one hand, as the possibility of fulfilling social responsibilities.
