U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

Through the master's program in history students will learn the tools and trade of history. Students will experience individual research through the master's thesis, and they will be trained in evaluating source material, historical issues and literature within a limited field of research. Students may write about a topic/issue that they feel passionate about, either individually with the help of a tutor, or in a research group or a research project. This allows students to have support from a larger network, and get to know a larger professional community that researches similar topics.
