The main objectives of the M.A. Program in History are to allow students to specialize in a specific area or subject in Chinese History or History of East-West Interactions and to develop and enhance their knowledge and capabilities for doing independent research and writing in English as well as in Chinese. The M.A. program is designed to attract and train both traditional and non-traditional college graduates who either plan to earn a Masters degree as preparation for entrance into a doctoral program or want to gain necessary knowledge and skills for their professional career.

Specific emphasis is placed on teaching and learning enhancement at the program. Apart from the traditional Socratic method of legal education, other active learning elements are adopted in the class. To promote blended learning, courses are supported with online learning platform using Moodle and specialized electronic data bases. Individual courses are offered by more than one expert, which also involves visiting professors and residential professors. In addition to the courses, a strong element of parallel seminars on contemporary legal issues delivered by experts from around the world.

Our courses on Macau and Hong Kong political development are catered to our local students and familiarize them about the situation of development in the regions. We also provide foundation courses for the would-be public servants in local and Macao SAR governments, regional offices of the greater bay areas of Guangdong, Macao and Hong Kong, the courses that cannot be found elsewhere. Our general course of either public administration or international relations figure the China factors heavily. This also facilitates our overseas students to understand Asia generally and China particular.
