Der Bachelorstudiengang besteht zzgl. der Projektarbeit, der Bachelorarbeit und des Praktikums aus 22 Pflichtmodulen, die von allen Studierenden zu absolvieren sind. Diese finden im Wesentlichen in den ersten 4 Sem. statt, 3 Pflichtmodule finden im 5. und ein Pflichtmodul findet im 6. Sem. statt. Die Pflichtmodule verteilen sich auf die Bereiche Ingenieurwissenschaftliche Grundlagen, Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Grundlagen, Systemwissenschaftliche Grundlagen und Gesellschaftswissenschaftliche Grundlagen. Die Pflichtmodule bauen zeitlich und fachlich in sinnvoller Weise aufeinander auf.

Teaching covers all periods of history of both Poland and general. Many courses are strictly linked to research undertaken in the Institute. Students are provided with both theoretical approach and practical studies in schools, archives, museums and local institutions. Teaching provided in the Institute has interdisciplinary flavour and uses various local resources, especially in regional studies of Upper Silesia in various periods.

Results of these studies are published, among others, in two Institute journals: “?redniowiecze Polskie i Powszechne” and "Wieki Stare i Nowe", published by the University of Silesia Press.
