U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The Department personnel have made notable input into the development of modern biophysics in Armenia. The Department of Biophysics of Yerevan State University actually is the major center for preparation of researcher biophysics. This is evidenced by the fact all the Armenian laboratories with biophysical specialization are staffed by graduates of the Department. During over four decades of its history the Department has prepared specialists that currently work in the areas of molecular and cell biology and other areas of modern biology.
