U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

In the recent years the Department of Physics undergoes the transition to student centered learning. It is introduced by encouraging the teaching staff to use active learning and other modern teaching methods via common seminars, where experience is shared, and hiring a physics education specialist who consults on what methods to use where. As a result, the core courses of B.Sc. program have been modified from lectures to active classes with the use of peer-instruction. Group work and cooperation is encouraged. Experimental labs shift to teaching experimental skills rather than physics.
