U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

Our Biology program is a typical program found in Liberal arts colleges in the USA. It is laboratory intensive. Students need to take at least six laboratory courses in Biology, two in chemistry and one in physics in order to meet graduation requirements. Many choose to take more. We do not have a focus on specific fields but rather encourage our students to explore a variety of topics in biology.

The BS and MS programs in the Chemistry Department provide graduate students with scientific knowledge, training and skills to eventually develop their own research work thus becoming independent teachers and scholars. This is met through providing students with the essential theoretical background within different chemistry disciplines, and the practical foundation to conduct experimental and theoretical research. In addition, the program enables students to communicate findings through presentations in scientific meetings and through publications.

The central goals of the MS program in Chemistry are: excellence in research with strong chemistry background. In addition, the program realizes the importance of the practice of teaching, and thus requires graduate students to engage in work as teaching assistants of undergraduate courses. These goals are achieved via providing students with a strong background to pursue their PhD, a career in teaching science, or work in various industries. The faculty is dedicated to shaping young scientists with inquisitive minds, and responsible characters.

The training will help the student acquire a sound balance between abstract generality and colorful individuality, and between the qualitative and quantitative aspects of Mathematics. It also will help the student master the theory through a clear comprehension of the theoretical aspects, but without losing sight of applications. Graduates of the Mathematics Department should be well placed to work in various professional areas of Education, Finance, Information Technology, or for pursuing graduate studies in Mathematics or a related area.

The program is designed to sensitize students to their responsibilities as sociologists, expose them to research methods, help them acquire an understanding of sociological theory and history, and to inspire their ‘sociological imaginations’. Students have the opportunity to study the development of the discipline, while exploring classical and contemporary theories, by conducting original fieldwork or doing research on secondary sources. The program also offers courses that are focused on the Middle East and the Arab world.

Based within an interdisciplinary department, the program thrives to remain at the intersection between global and regional sociology, as well as adjacent interdisciplinary fields such as Middle East, Postcolonial, Peace, Geographical, Queer, Development and Islamic Studies—with a bent towards qualitative sociology given the scarcity of decent regional datasets. The program is committed to public sociology, encouraging publications in various languages and non-specialized platforms.
