U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The one-year Master of Arts in Comparative History, is best suited for students who have a relatively clear idea for a thesis topic. "Comparative History" is meant here in the broadest sense of thinking about one's particular project with consideration of similar developments in other geographic, imperial, or national contexts. The second is a two-year MA degree in Comparative History. This program is for students who prefer a more flexible time-line for identifying and carrying out a research project and who may wish to pursue significant study of research languages.

At the time of its establishment in 1991, the primary focus of the International Business Law Program at the Department of Legal Studies was on transition towards market economy. In two decades’ time this emphasis has shifted and the curriculum has become more diversified. It is focusing on the legal setting of business transactions in a transnational environment, on the players, and on the regulatory framework of international business. The courses are dealing with present-day issues and practical problems. Special attention is devoted to various methods and techniques of dispute settlement.

A multidisciplinary faculty and a broad scope of course offerings attract top-level graduate students from around the world. Interest in, and respect for, cultural, national and religious diversity are highly valued at the department. We encourage our students to think of IR scholarship as a historically and culturally contingent practice and to enter the classroom prepared to contribute to an ongoing conversation about world politics. Above all, we are committed to educating a new generation of critical thinkers who will find their place both within Academia and outside.
