U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

We are the first Italian University to hold this course in both Italian and English. This decision was taken mainly to help our graduates to approach the international labour market and to improve relationships with Italian stakeholders who participate in the global labour market. The recently improved didactic structure is designed to offer the maximum level of flexibility and to adapt to students’ interests.

The educational path is characterized by its interdisciplinarity. In fact, the didactic plans of the three-year and master's degree courses involve the study of subjects such as zoology, botany, geology, chemistry and physics, among others. Therefore it is necessary that the members have adequate basic knowledge of mathematics and biology, good logical reasoning skills and a medium-high level of general knowledge. The various lessons taught on a theoretical level are complemented by didactic experiences of a more applicative nature, which are carried out in the laboratory.

Students will acquire useful skills to work in the analysis, safeguard and conservation of the environmental and natural heritage, as well as a means to stimulate a correct and healthy interaction between the human being and the environment. Students will deepen their knowledge in chemistry, physics, basic mathematics and, above all, in biology, in order to be able to operate in the laboratory and in the field by detecting and analyzing samples, as well as understanding the interaction between the different protagonists of the natural world.
