U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The teaching and learning profiles of Mechanical Engineering is characterized by a relevant interaction with the industrial and the research sectors. Particularly, there are several industrial and technological clusters in close connection with Industrial Clusters located in the Apulian region and outside. The close connection and the involvement in several research projects has led to the improvement of an innovative learning method. The course will combine a strong theoretical base with a significant aptitude in analyzing and solving practical problems.

The main research activities will concern the mechanical behavior of materials and industrial structures, Environment Impact and safety of Industrial Plants. The scientific activities are developed in the fields of unsteady and two-phase fluid-dynamic inside machines and apparatus, thermo and fluid dynamic applied to industrial processes simulation, Diesel engines. Within the manufacturing sector specific skills were developed concerning the design and simulation of production processes (forming and cutting ) using numerical and experimental methods, CAD CAM techniques.

The two years master degree is focuses on providing knowledge about design and managing complex mechanical systems adopted in production, energy and other sectors. Interdisciplinary issues – e.g. industrial safety, industrial quality management, CAD techniques – provided in the course. The course is strictly connected with the area of research of the laboratories related to the field of mechanical engineering. Three curricula are present: one in Design and Manufacturing, One in Energy and Fluid Machinery, Production systems. The thesis work and stage complete the skill.

The three years degree is characterized by a cross-cutting learning process. Lectures aim to improve student knowledge in mechanical, management, aerospace and materials engineering. Basic concepts in the engineering field are integrated with topics in the field of mechanics, materials, business management and aerospace fields. Main topics regard production from the design phase to manufacturing of industrial plants and material characterization. Students learn how to design complex mechanisms, machines, principles of energy transformation, design industrial plant layout.

The three-year course of study offers an interdisciplinary training, suitable for the preparation of sociologists to be employed in social research, in the planning and management of social policies, in particular those related to the processes of exclusion and marginalization. The course distinguishes two curricula: the "Professional and Didactic of Human Sciences" curriculum and the curriculum in "Crime and Deviance". The latter focused in particular on the sociological study of the processes of marginalization, as well as on the legal and psychological aspects of crime.
