Characteristics of teaching and learning in the field are as following. 1. Students are encouraged to learn through action because of the actual action will make the experience meaningful. 2. Students are encouraged to study by working group. The students expressed their opinions and accepted each other's opinions and know how to work with others. 3. There is curriculum mapping between the subjects and other subjects in the curriculum. 4. Teaching materials like instructional media and online are used such as audio visual, YouTube, MS team, zoom etc. to stimulate interest and help students.

Materials Engineering There is a bilateral education management system by providing teaching and learning in the first and last semesters and teaching styles, both descriptive and practical. In addition, during the summer semester of the third academic year teaching management by having students go out to do an internship in materials engineering at an establishment with a mentor who is an engineer to supervise the internship. In the fourth academic year, students are required to prepare a material engineering project which is the application of knowledge in the field that one has learned.

Das Duale Studium ermöglicht enge Kontakte zu Praxispartnern, Finanzierung des Studiums durch Verknüpfung von Berufsausbildung mit Hochschulstudium, sowie verkürzte Ausbildungszeiten. Auch hier greift das integrierte Berufspraktische Semester in Form von 20 Wochen Praxisphase mit Projektarbeit.
