U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The curriculum for this cycle conferring a master's degree is unique in Portugal and in the context of technical training within the primary sector. The network of the national agricultural education is systematically composed of two dichotomous dimensions ¬ or it is offered in exclusive training on agriculture, or it is offered in exclusive training on livestock production. The MEAP curriculum encompasses the 2 strands, in an updated broadband training perspective. The training plan also constitutes a natural continuity and suitable to the curriculum of the 1st cycle.

This study program is a recent one, that provides education in an area where there was clearly a demand of highly skilled and independent secretarial / clerk professionals. On this arena, most of the professionals have only lower level degrees or no specific training in the area, which means the graduates of this program are clearly distinctive in the market. The study program is more complete than lower level secretarial training by providing also a managerial mindset as well as traditional secretarial skills.

The curricular plan is organized in 6 semesters (the latter is a curricular internship) and offers 2 Branches or Specializations: Biological Engineering and Environmental Technology, after a three-semester common core. The curriculum plan offers a strong component of experimental education with the development of particularly relevant methods and techniques for the exercise of professional activity. This training culminates with a traineeship with the objective of providing the students a first contact with the real industrial world, facilitating their future integration in labor market.

Students are encouraged to undertake independent reading and studying both to supplement and consolidate what is being taught and to broaden their individual knowledge and understanding of the subjects. In several subjects, students must present written reports, in which they are encouraged to include small state-of-the-art reviews regarding a specific topic. Such activities are accompanied by the teachers, who, in their turn, are mostly involved in research centers, based outside ISEC, in all the areas typically associated with civil engineering’s scope of interest.
