U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The course in Microbiology aims to provide students with advanced skills in fundamental and applied microbiology. This is an area in which knowledge is rapidly expanding, incorporating high technological innovation and integrating several areas of the biology, such as genetics, molecular biology and immunology, among others. In this context, the training of specialists must cover the different domains in which the impact and action of microorganisms are recognized as relevant, namely, in industry, in the area of human health and in the protection of the environment.www.ua.pt/en/course/116

In the last decade decisive advances have been made in understanding life, in its molecular dimension, and consequently we have evolved in a vertiginous form from a disease perspective, in its diagnosis and therapeutics. Molecular Biomedicine is at the interphase between Medicine/Health and Biology and involves knowhow from Molecular Biology, Genomics, Proteomics, Human health and Pathology. It will capacitate students to develop conceptual, practical and methodological tools to apply to molecular biomedicine. More information at https://www.ua.pt/en/course/127

This master's degree helps graduates to access solid theoretical, conceptual and instrumental constructs that can be used in the analysis, evaluation and critical understanding of public administration and the changes it is currently undergoing at all levels - political, institutional / organisational and operational, with a specific focus on the Portuguese system. The special emphasis placed in this programme on the processes of change arises from the currently well-recognised need, albeit variously interpreted, to prepare public administration to deal with the new demands created by society.
