UK, USA, Australia or Germany – in which country do the most students have an international placement as part of their degree?

Student mobility is increasing and continues to become more popular with organisations like, the Erasmus Student Network, which aims to support and develop student exchange on a local, national and international level. Countries like Germany (25%), Australia (19%), USA (15%) and UK (6.6%) show high placement of international students. The data showcasing these figures looks at the amount of students who study, work or volunteer abroad for two weeks or more as part of their degree programme.

The percentage of all countries worldwide is comparably low, considering that there are so many reasons why studying abroad enriches your university degree. For example, an international study programme can help strengthen your resume (CV), showing potential employers your ability to work in diverse groups/ cultures and even enhanced language skills, while letting you easily meet new people and experience new cultures.

Want to study abroad, but don’t know where to begin your search? The ranking is sorted like a medal table with the university with the most A scores first, then Bs and so on. The ranking only uses the measures being displayed. To change which ones are displayed, check-out U-Multirank’s International Orientation Ranking. Please note: where data aren’t available, a university may appear lower than it would otherwise.
