U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

Informatics graduates are experts in the ways in which science and technology can help us to process information, translate it into knowledge and then make this knowledge accessible in the form of services. Graduates can work as software developers, data scientists and IT consultants, and develop human-computer interaction interfaces. The internet of things, Industry 4.0 and social media, as well as the exponential growth in storage capacity and the increase in cloud-based processing power are all synonymous with transformative information-based technologies.

In the Master's programme, the disciplines of medical and pharmaceutical biotechnology are studied in depth. Pharmaceutical biotechnology focuses on the production of biopharmaceuticals and concentrates on the central position of the "bioreactor" and the processes that take place before and after it in red biotechnology. In medical biotechnology, research-relevant content is taught. The thrust of the medical specialisation enables graduates to continue their studies in a corresponding PhD programme.

The aim of the studies is educating mechanical engineers by equipping the students with the knowledge and skills concerning machinery structure, manufacturing and operation as well as those referring to using up-to date computer technology. Within the chosen specialisation, it is possible to broaden adequate competencies. The characteristic features of the programme are its interdisciplinary nature and practical profile. Each student completes a 6-month training, most in the leading companies of the region. Some of the diploma theses are written to satisfy the needs of companies.
