U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

Students develop their abilities and skills both on and off campus. They have the opportunity to work alongside academics and industry professionals through role-play and real-life projects across a range of different contexts (national, international, social, economic, etc.). Our international approach includes visits by academics from abroad, participation in intensive European projects and opportunities for periods of study at other European, Latin American or North American universities. All this ensures that our graduates can tackle the role of brand manager with great confidence.

This degree offers a curriculum aimed at supporting our students throughout their developmental process towards attaining their professional status. The curriculum has been designed to promote the acquisition and application of knowledge, the development of the ability to critically reflect, analyze and make clinical judgments and the strengthening of communication skills. This multidisciplinary design makes it possible to achieve a degree of autonomy that enables students to successfully manage patient treatment and enhance their integration into, and management of, a clinical work team.

The Faculty of Health Sciences provides its students with an education which is international (40% of those studying with us are international students), multi-disciplinary, patient-focused and practical, with our Advanced Simulation Centre offering our students the opportunity to gain high-quality practical training in clinical skills. A high percentage of our academic staff hold a doctorate and are specialists from a range of professional fields: this, together with the small size of the teaching groups, enables us to closely monitor our students’ acquisition of the skills required.

The programme concerns applied science in three key professional areas: animal medicine and surgery, animal production and health, and food safety and technology, with an integrated approach being taken and with practical activities forming a major part (48%) of the study programme. Student interest in research is encouraged by means of direct involvement in projects led by the research groups. A holistic approach to the students’ training is undertaken, providing an interdisciplinary vision rather than a narrow focus on the strictly veterinary fields.
