U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

In order to adapt to the new grade system, the Faculty became involved from the beginning in the process by launching pilot projects to design the degree studies. At present four degrees are offered: Biology, Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences. All of them have recently been successfully re-accredited. A large part of the teaching staff has a permanent position which allows maintaining a high teaching quality.

The joint realization of field and laboratory practices in various subjects provides students with a complete vision of the levels of organization of living beings. The electivity is organized into two itineraries or thematic blocks that are connected with two of the most common professional opportunities: biodiversity conservation and health and biomedical orientation. To carry out the final degree project, it is essential to pass the subjects of the first three years. The final degree project can be a research project or a scientific theoretical project.

From the perspective of its social & economic impact, the increasing application of quality management by organisations from developed & emerging economies has become one of the drivers of their competitiveness. Moreover,it has spread throughout Europe not only to private businesses but also to sectors traditionally disinclined to introduce management innovations, such as health services, universities & schools, as well as to public administration. This expansion in the scope of the application of quality management gives us a first idea of the power of this form of management.

The traditional separation between business and/or financial institutions and insurance companies is being increasingly overcome and the major financial conglomerates operate in all sectors of the market offering its customers all kinds of savings, risk or credit products. Biodiversity is a polysemous concept that encompasses diverse aspects at different biological scales. The current proposal has as its goal the multidisciplinary training of postgraduates with sufficient ability to face the political and social demand of experts in this area. One of the basic scientific concepts is the need for realistic strategies for knowing, measuring, to compile and inventory, and to preserve and manage biodiversity, just as it was defined by the Rio Conference in 1992.

One of the most important challenges of any society is the proper management and conservation of water resources. It should not be forgotten that water is a limited and essential resource for the development of human life and that, at present, a good part of the world's population lives in regions with severe water scarcity. The problem of water scarcity is being aggravated by climate change, especially in arid regions, such as the Mediterranean, where the growing accumulation of population is causing depletion or the hardly reversible deterioration of water resources.

Palaeontology is a discipline based on the study and interpretation of life’s past on Earth through fossils. Included within Natural Sciences, it posses its own body of doctrine and shares fundaments and methods with Geology and Biology, with which is intrinsically integrated. In fact, palaeontology gives these sciences back the fundaments previously provided in the form of inputs or contributions to other fields of science due to the wide range of possible applications in paleobiological research (Evolution, Biodiversity, Continental Drifts, Climate change, etc.).

A close look allows us to discover that History, in its various specialities, has considerable social prestige today. In fact, large social groups and communities find their origins in different historical periods and, with them, an essential element of their historical identity. And there is no doubt about the presence of the classical heritage of Greco-Roman culture, which has always been greatly valued, especially in recent years.

It is an unavoidable requirement of societies to know their historical trajectory to better understand their present. The reconstruction of this story by applying a scientific method is necessary to avoid explanations based on myths or misrepresentations. It is necessary, therefore, to train specialists capable of advancing historiography and deepening knowledge of the past from scientific budgets.

Theoretical subjects include practical problem-solving classes in small groups of students that facilitate their study and understanding and contribute to the overall assessment. Laboratories are a very important part of the degree because they develop familiarity with measurement and data analysis techniques and instrumentation. In the experimental laboratories they work in pairs, in groups of sixteen students. Computer and computer subjects also include internships in small group computer rooms.
