U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

Students experience technology and business in almost equal proportions and practice the interdisciplinary view. Economical and engineering study contents convey the different ways of thinking, questions and technical languages. The ability for interdisciplinary work is in the center of attention. The goal is to be able to independently solve tasks that require knowledge from both areas. By working on practical problems, students can validate and apply the knowledge acquired. Due to practical training, there is close cooperation between science and (supra)regional industry.
