U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The Business Administration and Engineering course of study with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering at RWTH has a strong technical focus. The intensive training in natural science and engineering subjects provides students with a skills profile similar to a purely engineering education. This is also evident in the unusually diverse specialization possibilities. The curriculum supplementes the technical perspectives with business and economics modules. Over seven semesters students acquire the typical cross-sectional skills which distinguish industrial engineers.

Through the Master's course of study in Business Administration and Engineering: Mechanical Engineering, students acquire both engineering and business administrative skills. This interdisciplinary education enables students to later work in engineering, business administrative, and above all, interdisciplinary fields. During the first examination period, students choose the respective engineering and business administrative career field. The engineering concentrations are separated once again in various fields of specialization.

Our profile is based on a interdisciplinary BA "Gesellschaftwissenschaft", which enables to acquire acrosslinked knowledge of society in a unique cooperation of 4 disciplinea. The MA " Geschichte als Wissenskultur" is characterized by the focus on the relevance of "knowledge in history", not only as common as "History of Science". The programme is characterised by post-industrial problems in society and focuses on current key themes in historiography. It is our aim to involve the students in research projects. Due to the main theme of the RWTH there is a focus on the History of Knowledge.

The special research focus is standing on 2 pillars.1. All four Professors and their staff have a special epochal research area, that characterised them. For example: Ancient Greek History, The History of the Popes, History of Russia and Romania. 2. The theme "Geschichte als Wissenskultur" is relevant to all Professors and some members of the staff. The theme "Wissenskultur" is a focus for common research projects inside and outside the Faculty in the programme of RWTH Aachen. Due to this there is also in the concept of "Wissenskultur" a focus on the History of Knowledge and Technologies.
