Neben der Vermittlung betriebswirtschaftlichen Fachwissens steht die Aneignung speziellen Wissens in Energiewirtschaft gepaart mit dem Erwerb von Kompetenzen in Finanzwirtschaft und Unternehmensrechnung im Vordergrund des Studiums. The faculty is the initiator and supporter of the Collaborative Research Centre 1093 (Supramolecular Chemistry on Proteins) which is also integrated into teaching through the affiliated graduate college. The faculty is involved in other collaborative research centres: SFB TRR 270, SFB 1242 and SFB/TRR 247. The faculty plays an important role in four of five of the university's research focuses, and several of the central academic research institutions are led by members of our faculty (e.g. Nanosciences, Water and Environmental Research, empirical Educational Research).
