U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

Engineering and natural sciences are no longer imaginable without using mathematics and computer science. This masters' course contains computer science aspects with a special focus on high performance computing as an important tool for engineering, on the one hand. On the other hand, it looks at the application of mathematical and computer science methods for applications in engineering with a special focus on numerical thermodynamics. TU Dresden and TU Bergakademie Freiberg bring their competences together in a joint programme and award a joint Master's degree.
