U-Multirank's unique 'Sunburst chart' gives an illustration of a university's performance profile across the five U-Multirank dimensions. These are indicated in different colours. For instance, the teaching and learning dimension is symbolised by the colour green. Each 'sunray' represents one of the thirty plus U-Multirank indicators. The longer the ray, the better the performance of an institution on the selected indicator: a full-length ray stands for 'top group' performance, whereas a short ray means 'weak' performance. A missing sunray indicates that the specific data indicator is not available. An institution's performance in an indicator can be identified by moving the cursor over the rays. A key guard for the sunburst chart is provided here .

The Silesian University of Technology is one of the very few higher education institutions in Poland where foreign students have a chance to study Civil Engineering in English. The Faculty offers academic programmes (courses) at all three levels of study: bachelor, master and doctoral. Undoubtedly, a major advantage of this course is the obligatory professional practice, lasting one semester. It provides students with the opportunity to prepare for their future profession and, through contact with the industry, offers a possibility to find job after graduation.

In the didactic process lasting seven semesters for BSc course, there are used modern information tools that prepare future engineers for implementation of information projects. The learning begins with the introduction of the basic issues related to programming, next focuses on the issues concerning object-oriented programming, including the knowledge on algorithms and structures of data as well as programming of mobile and network applications. Students acquire the knowledge on elements of software and hardware engineering, networks and computer graphic designing.
